The Old Courthouse, one of Blanco's main tourist attractions, is open for touring 5 days a week with no admission charge. Nearby on the square are restaurants, a grocery, a drug store, a post office, a bank, specialized artisans and numerous shopping opportunities. The city park just across the street provides a pleasant trail connecting the central business district to the Blanco State park. The Visitor Center, provided as a community service by the OBCCPS, welcomes Blanco's visitors with a wide range of information about accommodations, restaurants, recreational opportunities and historical sites in the Hill Country. Information about the community, the region and the courthouse is available. The Center serves a growing flow of visitors and is open from 10 AM to 3 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Visitors from all parts of the world marvel at the stylish architecture of the Courthouse and at the varied career of the old building during its 119 year history. Tours of the building produce appreciation for the restoration and for the effort of the small town of Blanco that makes possible the survival of this historic landmark. |
