The 2006 Christmas season officially got underway in Blanco with the traditional OBCCPS sponsored Lighting Ceremony at the Old Courthouse the day after Thanksgiving. By popular demand, festivities again began with special music by the Old Time Gospel Singers, The Bells of Joy, on the Old Courthouse lawn at 5 PM.

The lights went on at 6:00 P.M. revealing the Old Courthouse in all its holiday splendor. All were invited upstairs to enjoy the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, punch and cookies, and a visit with Santa Claus.

At 10 AM on December 9th, the OBCCPS sponsored Christmas parade again made its way around the town with a special Christmas Market Day on the grounds during the day. Local residents as well as many visitors enjoyed the day.
